BOOK THE PURPLE UMBRELLA

14,40

Shortly before the war of 1940, somewhere in Marousi, lives with her parents Eleftheria, a ten-year-old girl, whom her twin younger brothers call Letro and when they get angry with her Laveran's Plasmodium. She detests the household and "women's" jobs, while she goes crazy for everything her father disapproves of: She reads books voraciously, looks forward to seeing the theater, sneaks glances at the newspaper, wishes one day to look like Sophocles' Antigone.
On the upper floor of their house, Mr. Marcel, a Frenchman who lives permanently in Greece, has Benoit's nephew under his protection, who becomes the children's inseparable friend. Few of their toys: balls, spins, rope, yo-yoki, a pair of roller skates. Their imaginations are boundless: together they create a thousand and two stories that enchant them too. And how much more would they think of doing if the adults didn't stop them...
